While I love Woo’s HK films, he was really hamstrung here (in editing and being stuck with JCVM). The director’s cut is the only way to go with this one (with thanks to my friend J.D. to pointing it my way), but it’s Lance that literally saves this film singlehandedly (well… Arnold Vosloo does help). Now, if only the studio would have gone with their earlier pick for Chance Boudreaux (Kurt Russell), they’d have had a classic. Fine post, Alison. Thanks.
